Geoffrey N. Sklar, M.D.

M.D., Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Sklar was named Chief Medical Officer for United Urology in 2018 after serving as Chief Medical Officer of Chesapeake Urology, a member of United Urology’s group practices, since 2008. Dr. Sklar is a member of United Urology’s Executive Clinical Team. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sklar is responsible for clinical quality, effectiveness and medical programs at United Urology’s member group practices in 46 locations, in four states and including 120 physicians. He oversees the professional and quality control standards for the organization, develops, and implements policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of quality medical care. In addition, he provides senior executive leadership for risk management, physician oversight, and ensures clinical services compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.

Dr. Sklar has held high-level positions with the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center as President of the Medical Staff; Chief of Urology; Chief of Urological Oncology; and Assistant Chief of Surgery. He also served as Assistant Director of the Weinberg Cancer Center and Director of Urologic Oncology at MedStar Franklin Square Hospital. Prior to this, Dr. Sklar was the Chief of Urology and Urology Residency Director at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Dr. Sklar received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland where he also completed his surgical and urology residencies. Certified by the American Board of Urology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Sklar received the title of “Innovator in Urology” and was recognized as a Top Doctor and a “Super Doctor” in multiple publications over multiple years.
