Erica Waxman

General Counsel

Erica oversees all company legal matters, partners with the leadership team on strategic objectives, and guides administrative and physician leaders on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.

Erica brings over 16 years of legal experience and more than a decade of working in the healthcare field. Prior to joining UUG, Erica served as Senior Director, Group General Counsel, Nephrology Practice Solutions, a subsidiary of Davita, Inc. that owns and manages physician practices and DaVita Clinical Research, and Assistant General Counsel and Director of Compliance at DaVita Inc. based in Denver, Colorado. In these roles, she advised on healthcare compliance and regulatory issues, supported business teams on physician practice and clinical research operational issues, and served as a trusted counselor to senior leadership for almost seven years. She also served as Director of Compliance and interim Chief Compliance Officer for Orthofix International and Health Plan Compliance Officer for Aetna. Prior to moving into a corporate role, Erica served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, where she investigated and litigated healthcare fraud cases.

Erica received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business, her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and her L.L.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.
