Benjamin H. Lowentritt, M.D.

Dr. Benjamin Lowentritt serves as the Medical Director of the Prostate Cancer Program at Chesapeake Urology as well as Vice President, Physician Services for United Urology Group. Dr. Lowentritt is a member of United Urology’s Executive Clinical Team. Dr. Lowentritt is responsible for working with member practices to build and optimize services for prostate cancer patients. This includes supporting physicians, staff, and operational teams treatment options are expanded. The goal is for each member group to have a comprehensive, state-of-the-art program that helps patients through difficult diagnoses.

Dr. Lowentritt has been at the forefront of robotic urology procedures and was the first surgeon in Maryland to perform robot-assisted surgery for bladder cancer. He has authored numerous articles on robotic surgery, erectile dysfunction, pediatric urology, female urology, and the urological management of patients after renal transplantation.

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine, completed his medical residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and a fellowship in Robotic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Urology at Tulane University. Dr. Lowentritt has served on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association and is currently serving as President-Elect. He also serves on the Boards of Directors for MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society, and the Baltimore City Medical Society, including as a past President. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in multiple publications over multiple years and selected as a “Super Doctor” by his peers in The Washington Post.
